Your Values Identified

What matters most to you?

A free reflection tool to clarify your core values

In my clinical work, I often invite clients to reflect on their values. Time and again, I've watched these reflections become turning points, where someone stops asking "what's wrong with me?" and starts asking "what kind of life do I actually want to live?"

I built this Personal Values Assessment so that this kind of reflection doesn't have to be reserved for the therapy room. Whether you're a current client looking to deepen your between-session work, someone considering therapy, or simply someone curious about what really matters to you, this tool is for you.

What it does

Over about five to eight minutes, the reflective tool walks you through:

  1. A first-pass scan of fifty-seven values drawn from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT),

  2. Four reflective prompts designed to surface values that don't show up in checkboxes,

  3. A narrowing process to identify your five core values,

  4. A self-rating of how consistently you've been living each value over the past week,

  5. And one small, concrete action you can take this week to live each value more fully.

So you leave with a personalised summary you can screenshot or save.

Why values?

Why centre this tool on values rather than goals, strengths, or personality traits? Decades of research point to values-aligned living as one of the more reliable ingredients of psychological wellbeing. People who actively pursue what matters most to them tend to report higher life satisfaction, lower rates of depression and anxiety, and greater resilience in the face of stress.

Importantly, values in this framework are a direction, not a destination. You never "achieve" honesty or kindness or courage, you live them, again and again, in small everyday choices. That makes values uniquely sustainable as a source of meaning. There's no finish line to fall off.

What I hope you take from this

I hope this tool gives you a moment of stillness. I hope it helps you see, perhaps more clearly than before, what kind of person you want to be and what kind of life you want to build.

If you're a current client of mine, please bring a screenshot of your summary to our next session. If you're not, I hope it's useful all the same.

A note on privacy

This tool stores nothing and there’s no embedded AI software. Your reflections, selections, and committed actions never leave your browser. I can't see them, and neither can anyone else. Closing the page clears your responses.
